Studio
Seventeen years as the client
Before Travesía was a studio, I was the person on the other side of the brief: an organiser commissioning sites and software for events, living with what was delivered, and learning what breaks on race morning.
Seventeen years of that taught me what a site for an event is for. It has to be read on a phone in a language that is not the reader's first. It has to take an entry without losing it. It has to still work when the person who built it is gone. Most of what I was sold did none of those things.
The studio builds what I wished I had been sold: static sites that load anywhere, platforms that keep the money and the data in your hands, and systems that run without a person watching them.
How the studio works
Travesía is based in Monteverde, Costa Rica, and works with organisers wherever they are. Work happens in writing first: a Blueprint before a build, a runbook after it, and a repository you own throughout.
One person leads every project. Specialists join when a project needs them, and you know who they are. Calls are scheduled across time zones; nothing waits for a meeting that an email would settle.
Everything the studio builds is measured: performance, accessibility and search budgets that fail the build when they are missed, and numbers that appear on this site only with their source.
